The International Conference on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship as driving forces of the Global Economy (ICLIE) was organized in alignment with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and to support innovators across various sectors within the UAE to transform ideas into innovative projects that will contribute to the country’s national innovation strategy and to achieving the UAE Vision 2021. Organized by Canadian University Dubai and sponsored by prestigious institutions, the conference was held on April 20th – 22nd, 2016 at the Atlantis - The Palm, Dubai, UAE. The three-day Conference brought together researchers, practitioners and policy makers to debate the emerging challenges and long-term solutions to some of the key business challenges arising in the globalized economy. Innovation, research, science and technology will form the pillars of a knowledge-based, highly productive and competitive economy, driven by entrepreneurs and leaders in a business-friendly environment where public and private sectors form effective partnerships. The purpose of ICLIE conference was to provide a platform to disseminate and exchange ideas among researchers, students, policy makers and practitioners to promote a better understanding of current issues and solutions to the challenges in the globalized economy in relation to the field of Entrepreneurship, Business and Economics, Technology management, Islamic Finance and Management.
